DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS IN INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL INTEGRATION (2)
The International Financial Integration (INFINITI) group at the Institute for International Integration Studies seeks two doctoral researchers to join their team from October 2006. The researcher will be expected to play a central role in carrying out empirical studies in contagion, asset market linkages, MNC's role in international finance, international funds flows, spillover modeling, international pricing, international debt, and the international financial architecture. They will also be required to register as a PhD student at the School of Business.

START DATE: October 2006
CLOSING DATE: 8 April 2006 1700h
RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP: Each successful student will be awarded a Research Assistanceship of 7500. Funding for this is guaranteed to end-September 2007, and will be continued, subject to satisfactory performance, contingent on the IIIS and the INFINITI group being funded thereafter.

CANDIDATES:
- Should have recently obtained or expect to obtain by mid-2006 a masters degree in International Finance, International Economics or International Business from a leading research orientated institution : Will demonstrate a competence in econometrics, statistical analysis and/or modelling and estimation techniques including econophysics;
- Will be proficient in English, both as a written and spoken language;
- Will wish to pursue a career in academia and research;
- Shall demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity towards the complexities and currents of debate in the wider area of globalization and international integration;
- Shall demonstrate an interest in issues around international debt and international finance.
- Should have experience with one or more of the following packages: RATS, GAUSS, EVIEWS, STATA, SPSS, S-PLUS or MATLAB.
- Shall show evidence of research capability at a level that can lead to publications in international peer-reviewed journals
