Populations in Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia
Northern Institute for Cancer Research
*Project: *The techniques applied will include 6-colour flow cytometry of candidate leukaemic stem cell populations using stem and early B cell markers, purification of candidate stem cell populations by cell sorting, molecular characterization of these populations by RT-PCR and FISH and functional studies using in vivo transplantation models.
The project is based in the recently opened Northern Institute for Cancer Research <http://www.ncl.ac.uk/nicr/>.
*Supervisor: *Professor Josef Vormoor, Chair of Clinical Paediatric Oncology
*Sponsor:* North East Children's Cancer Research Fund (three years)
