*Postgraduate Research Studentships in Biomedicine*
The School of Medicine at the University of Southampton was ranked third out of all the UK medical schools in The Times Good University Guide published in summer 2005. Applications are invited for postgraduate research studentships as follows:
*4 year PhD in Biomedical Science*
The new integrated 4 year research programme in Biomedical Science will open in October 2006 (subject to validation) under the direction of Professor Tim Elliott. This is a full-time programme leading to a PhD in a subject area reflecting one of the major research strengths in the University. It has been designed to produce the next generation of leaders in biomedical research.
We are currently offering studentships for commencement in October 2006 in:
"THE CELL BIOLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY OF CANCER"
The programme will draw on our strong international reputation in the areas of tumour immunity and basic immunology, tumour cell biology and genetics, apoptosis and inflammation.

Entry criteria for postgraduate research programme described above: A good first degree (a minimum of 2.1) in a suitable subject of any approved university or other institution of higher education.
