New Scholarship Opportunities for Study at ANU - Endeavour Awards Programme

Dear Colleagues,

We have received information about the recently announced $1.4 billion
Australian Scholarships that will be of interest to potential applicants for
Masters and PhD study.

The package sees the number of scholarships available for the Asia-Pacific
region (from Turkey and Jordan in the west to Japan in the east, down to
Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific) double to around 19,000 over the
next five years. The Australian Scholarships programme comprises of new and
existing programmes managed by AusAID and DEST, with its aim to bring high
achieving students, researchers and professionals from the region to
Australia each year to undertake short or long term study, research and
professional development (between three weeks and 3.5 years) in a broad
range of disciplines.

I have included some of the funding opportunities specifically suited for
potential Masters and Phd candidates below, but for full information on all
the Endeavor Awards Programs being offered, and how to apply
(electronically), please go to www.endeavour.dest.gov.au

Please note that closing dates for most of these awards fall within the
next couple of months so prompt action will need to be taken by interested
applicants. Masters applicants should also remember to include "Demography
Preparatory Program" along with the actual degree in any application as it
is usually compulsory for international students. See our website at
http://demography.anu.edu.au/GSD/index.php for the latest Program
information.
