Applications are invited for up to three PhD studentships in the
following research areas:
The role of radical rhetoric in the incitement of terrorism
Terrorist use of the media and media coverage of terrorism
Terrorist uses of the internet

Outstanding applications wishing to pursue studies of other
terrorism-related issues will also be considered. However, at least
two of the awards will be made in the above fields.

The successful candidates are expected to contribute to tutoring and
marking E-learning courses in Terrorism Studies. In collaboration with
CSTPV's Data Manager, they will also engage in the collection and
analysis of terrorist communiqu�s, court testimonies, ideological
writings etc, with an eye to deciphering how terrorists and their
audiences assess and experience violence. Relevant language skills
will be an advantage in this context.

Each Scholarship involves the waiving of fees and maintenance grant
payments of �10,000 per annum over four years.
